QRubini.... handmade clothing since 1997. How to Measure Your Child Please measure your child and make sure you understand the meaning of QRubini's measurement descriptions before ordering. Customers pay all charges for returns due to size issues and customers may incur a restocking fee. The QRubini dress typically runs large. We call this our Latin-sizing. QRubini dresses are cut by hand and sewn by hand and by foot-peddled and electric sewing machines. As a result of our manual processes, the actual measurements of a given dress may vary slightly from the measurements given in the product description. This variance may be from one quarter to one inch. For most dresses, we recommend ordering your dress at tea length (mid to lower calf/upper ankle). There are a few styles that should fall near or above the knee. Please read the dress descriptions before ordering. QRubini dresses are of very high quality and are thus, costly to produce. In an effort to give QRubini customers the greatest value for their dollar, QRubini encourages its customers, if possible, to order a dress that gives your child a bit of growing room. While the dress may appear a bit large for the child the first year, most QRubini styles are tie-in-the-back and the "extra" in the garment may easily be pulled back and gathered when the dress is tied. Once the dress is on and tied properly - every little girl looks great dancing and twirling in it! If ordered correctly, most QRubini dresses can be worn for two full years and then pased down to the next generation. QRubini dresses are very beautiful and your little one will enjoy wearing the dress for years - in fact, a number of our little girls (and their moms!) have cried when they have outgrown their dresses! QRubini asks that you measure your child before purchasing a dress. Please read the following information about how to measure your child and the meaning of the measurements that are given in our product descriptions before ordering from QRubini. Measurement 1- #M1 - The Shoulder Measurement The Shoulder Measurement - this is the distance from the left side shoulder seam to the right side shoulder seam, on sleeveless dresses this is the measurement from the outside of the left shoulder seam to the outside of the right shoulder seam. When measuring your child, please measure the distance from shoulder to shoulder. We recommend ordering a size that is near the actual distance of your child's shoulder measurement. Ordering a size a bit smaller than your child's actual measurement will give you a more "perfect" fit, ordering a size a bit larger than your child's actual will give you a "room-to-grow" fit. Most QRubini dresses are tie-in-the-back designs. If a "room-to-grow" fit is ordered, the "extra" in the garment may be pulled back when you tie the bow in the back of the dress. Measurement 2 - #M2 - The Chest/Bodice The Chest/Bodice Measurement - this is the distance across the back of the garment at chest/bodice level. In measurinig your child, please measure the area around your child's chest/bodice area and divide it by 2. We recommend ordering a size that is about 3 inches larger than your child's actual measurement. Measurement 3 - #M3 - The Length Measurement The Length Measurement - the total length of the garment measurement: from the top of the garment to the bottom - from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the hemline for a dress; from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the hemline for a blouse; and from the waist to the bottom of the hemline for a skirt, short or pant. When ordering a traditional QRubini dress, we recommend that you order a dress that will fall at mid to lower calf/upper ankle. (Please note that there are a few stlyes that call for a near or above near knee fit - this is noted in the product description section for such garments.) For a "room-to-grow" fit for skirts, shorts, pants and blouses, we recommend that you order a garment with an inch to three inches extra in length from where the garment would normally fall. Measurement 4 - #M4 - The Waist Measurement The Waist Measurement - the distance around the waist of the garment (given only for skirts, shorts and pants). Most of our skirts, shorts and pants have elastic waistbands. For a "room-to-grow" fit, we suggest that you order a garment a bit larger than your child's actual waist measurement. Measurements vary from garment to garment and size to size so it is important that QRubini customers measure their children before every new order. Thin Children - the best style dress for a thin child is the tie in the back dress (you can find these dresses listed under the dress category of the shopping section - the category is Tie-in the Back Dresses). QRubini dresses and outfits are Latin-sized, thus they run larger than standard U.S. sizes. While QRubini typically suggests that its customers order the "room-to-grow" fit, if your child is on the very thin side QRubini suggests that you order the size closest to your child's actual measurements.
